Kai Fish (Mystery Jets), Brel Bar Glasgow, Live Photos.

On the 23rd September, I went along to photograph Kai Fish (from Mystery Jets), at the Brel Bar in Glasgow. It's Kai's first solo performance tour, and I must say his set was pretty amazing. I was really impressed with his music, loving 'My Anima', everyone should go check it out. I'm pretty sure you can listen to a few of Kai's songs over at his official website.

I also loved the venue, it was an 80 capacity, and it was very tiny, everyone had to sit in rows of chairs like at a cinema. The setting was also very lovely, but I knew I was going to love it from the minute I entered the street, even though I didn't know the place existed before! It was down a really small alleyway, and reminded me of a street in France. Gorgeous!

Sons and Daughters, SWG3 Glasgow, Live and Promo Photos.

Last night I had the pleasure of photographing Sons & Daughters live at their SWG3 gig, in Glasgow, along with some quick promo snaps of the band afterwards.
The show was in a warehouse venue called SWG3, which I genuinely think no-one had heard of before, but with the help of google maps we found out it was situated in the west end of Glasgow, which I personally adore. It was as you would imagine, a really cool venue to see the band perform in, and I hadn't actually seen Sons & Daughters live before, so overall it was a really good night. As you can probably guess, the first photo at the very start of this post is one of the promo photos of the band that I had taken after the gig, it was really awesome to get some snaps of the band altogether, and it was lovely to meet them.
I hope everyone enjoys the photos! There will definitely be more uploaded to Flickr, so go check it out. I'll leave you with one more shot below...

Disorder Magazine, April/May 2011.

One of my photographs of My Fallen Idea, has been published in London's 'Disorder' Magazine. It's part of their 'Press Pit' feature and is on a full page in their April/May issue. I'm really ecstatic that my photography is reaching different cities, especially London, and to have it published in Disorder is completely incredible. I've been reading their magazine since 2006, when I first saw a photo of Klaxons on the cover. It's crazy to finally have one of my photographs in their mag.
I hope you all go out and buy a copy, Disorder can be found in all good newsagents and bookstores, and if you can't find anywhere that stocks it, you can also buy online.
Here's what it looks like below!

Dry The River, Dundee, Live Photos.

Dry The River, an 'alt-folk' band from London, were playing yet another gig in Dundee. Again, it was at Duke's Corner (they previously played there supporting Johnny Flynn), and I went along last night to see them. I really love the venue and the setting, even when it was originally The Doghouse it was always one of my favourite places to see a band. I think it's maybe even ten times more gorgeous now, but I do kind of miss their huge leather seats, and the Jack Daniel's rocking chair, haha, oh well.
Dry The River's set itself was amazing, great band to take photographs of, and an all around awesome act (illiteration!) my favourite song has to be 'History Book', it's lovely!
Any comments on the photos, again always welcome.
I also keep forgetting to add at the end of every blog, all full sets of photographs can be found on my Myspace, check the right 'Links' section.

Until next time...
