Dundee in the Summer.

Hey everyone, I've recently been hugely inspired by a few youtube photography tutorials to try out some sunset shots, so about a month ago I set off on a really good sunny night hoping that there would be an amazing shot to be achieved, but alas there was nothing special...(and I hate to say it but the next night the sky looked utterly amazing at sunset but I wasn't prepared). However I thought I'd put up the shots I managed to get at the time anyway because I quite liked them nonetheless, and the first one has quite a moody atmosphere to it, the second is totally the opposite and funnily enough, these were both taken at the same time but different directions of the sun.

The photo below is the current situation Dundee city centre is in, quite a state if you can see! It seems that they're trying to start and finish different projects all at the same time and I can understand the point of getting work done quickly but it's a pain to get places in traffic everyday. Ranting aside, I thought it made for a good image anyway, the building actually used to be the Tayside House and I'm pretty sure it was also a good five or six storeys higher than it is in this picture as they have been slowly taking it down over the past few months now, and I believe it is fully gone now, hooray!

Oh, also I recently loaded my Holga camera with a new roll of 120 film as I was cleaning my room the other day and noticed it gathering dust in its box, so it was about time it got put to good use again, expect some photos from those outings soon!

Unreleased Landscape and Urban Photos...

Another update with some unreleased photos from last year!
I had a few gigs that I photographed all at the one time and I ended up forgetting about a few landscape photographs that I had taken at lots of excellent locations and whilst I was browsing through my files I stumbled across them and couldn't help but wonder why I had never posted them in the end!
This group of photos were taken roughly around April last year, and although I've only just got around to posting this now, it's actually been sitting in my drafts for a few months as I wanted to add way more photos and I've always had something more important to edit...hence why I'm just finally getting around to uploading this now!
My favourite shots along with the Addams Family-esque hotel that starts off this blog post also includes this one below...The Sweeney Tod Demon Barber...mainly because of the statue outside, it made me smile, although I'm not sure why anyone would actually want to get their hair done there...you've gotta be brave to do that!

Edward Scissorhands.

Another quick update with some unreleased photos from last year!
I had a few gigs that I photographed all at the one time and I ended up forgetting about a few landscape photographs that I had taken at some excellent locations. Upon browsing through my files recently I stumbled across them and I couldn't help but wonder why I had never posted them in the end!
This group of photographs are from a little evening adventure back in late summer last year. I loved the location, it's completely hidden out of sight, however you almost get that feeling as if you are being watched from every angle, and for me it also doesn't help that the building and its grounds resemble edward scissorhands', you know, they even had topiary bushes, sheer genius!
There were sculptures of people hidden between trees everywhere, so I guess that probably didn't help.
I think I'm going to go back here in the summer to take some sunny shots of the place with no overcast clouds.
Also, the vintage car below was actually sitting abandoned outside the Castle, not really sure if it is the owner's or if someone has just dumped it there, but it looks beautiful alongside the building.
