100 Fans on Facebook!

I've recently hit 100 fans on my Facebook Photography page!! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has liked the page, and anyone who has commented on any of my posts or photos. It means a lot to know people care about my Photography.

The photo above was taken on my way to Edinburgh a couple of weekends ago, I was going to see the lovely Agitator play at the Cabaret Voltaire (which is always a pleasure to go to one of their shows) and it was a perfect moment!

Hopefully I'll have some more work to share with you all soon, it's really quiet in the Scottish music scene for gigs at the moment, and I'm honestly completely missing live music photography. I've searched and searched all of the shows coming up but it's impossible to find anything other than festivals, so bare with me folks, and hopefully I'll have something soon, fingers crossed!

Percolate Magazine

Another lovely press post today. I logged into Twitter this morning and was completely surprised to notice a tweet from a Manchester Magazine called Percolate saying I was one of their 14 Favourite Female UK-Based Photographers!
It's absolutely incredible, and I can't believe they have included me in the feature.

Disorder Magazine, April/May 2011.

One of my photographs of My Fallen Idea, has been published in London's 'Disorder' Magazine. It's part of their 'Press Pit' feature and is on a full page in their April/May issue. I'm really ecstatic that my photography is reaching different cities, especially London, and to have it published in Disorder is completely incredible. I've been reading their magazine since 2006, when I first saw a photo of Klaxons on the cover. It's crazy to finally have one of my photographs in their mag.
I hope you all go out and buy a copy, Disorder can be found in all good newsagents and bookstores, and if you can't find anywhere that stocks it, you can also buy online.

Dry The River, King Tuts Glasgow, Live Photos + Video

I'm finally back with some Live Music Photography for you all, I bet everyone's been missing it?! I definitely have anyway, haha.
Dry The River were performing a show at King Tuts, in Glasgow on the 27th April, and I luckily managed to obtain a photo pass for it a few weeks in advance...which was awesome! It's actually the first time I've taken photos at King Tuts, I've been to many gigs there before but I hadn't started photography at that point in time, so it was a totally new experience for me, but it went pretty well, and the gig was amazing.
If you haven't already checked out Dry The River, go to www.drytheriver.com and listen to their music, they are truly an astounding band! I can guarantee definitely one of the best new British artists around at the moment.

Below is the HD Video I recorded of Dry The River, it features "History Book" then "Lion's Den" and a little bit of Peter chatting with the crowd about living in Glasgow when he was young.
Make sure you watch right to the end of the video, I'm pretty sure no-one realised their set was going to end like that. Once again, another amazing show by Dry The River.

Queen's View.

Last week on Thursday, I decided to go to Pitlochry in Perthshire. I haven't been there since 2005, which was actually a high school Geography trip, so I thought it was about time I went back. I pretty much walked through the same route as I did on the trip, starting with going past the Dam and Fish Ladder, then over one of the scariest bridges (that does move whilst you're walking over it!), and back onto the main street. They have a nice variety of shops, some lovely little cafes and restaurants (you must go to Cafe Biba, it's amazing!), and everything else like bakeries, hairdressers etc. After my little jaunt around the town, I decided to go to Queen's View. I remembered that the bus ride to this place was crazy the last time I went, as we met lorries on the route, and we were about seconds from the edge of a HUGE drop into the lake, with a bus driver who was smiling in his mirror at everyone at the same time...pretty scary! However the car ride out wasn't as bad as expected, phew, and most importantly it was completely worth it. The view is absolutely gorgeous, I could have stayed there forever.
I actually forgot how much Pitlochry is such a beautiful place...could you believe I almost felt like I was on holiday some place miles away...that's when you know you're having a good time!

Vanilla Cupcake.

Back with more Food Photography! After eating the most amazing cupcake from a local cafe recently, I've been wanting to make my own for a while. So I found a recipe from The Hummingbird Bakery, for Vanilla Cupcakes. I've changed mines a little by adding grated chocolate on the topping, as I couldn't find any multi-coloured sprinkles!
For the photos, I found a really nice floral plate (if you didn't already know I'm in love with anything vintage) and I thought it looked perfect with the cupcakes!
