Heaven's Basement, Ivory Blacks Glasgow, Live Photos.

Hi everyone, I recently went along to photograph Heaven's Basement at Ivory Blacks in Glasgow at the start of July, and I'd actually wanted to photograph them since earlier in the year but sadly their gig clashed with another show I was covering at the time so I had to give it a miss however I'm glad I've finally managed to get around to seeing these guys live.
First things first, the gig was absolutely amazing and I'm already obsessing about wanting to see these guys again! If you're following me on Facebook/Twitter you'll already know that I've said their performance was the best I have seen in years so I was already half planning to go see them the next day after at their show in Aberdeen but I thought that might have seemed a little bit obsessive...haha, but next tour I'll be there again for sure! Aside from the gig itself, photographing it was a little harder than I'd imagined, for starters it was a sold out show so the place was absolutely packed and secondly Ivory Blacks didn't actually have a proper photo pit, instead it was filled with all types of technical equipment however the right side of the pit was empty so...I luckily managed to squeeze myself inbetween the barrier and I had enough room to photograph from there, which to be honest worked out pretty well in the end although at one point the guitarist got a little too close with his guitar and I feared for my camera's life...it was almost a goner but thankfully it's still in one piece, haha!

The Maccabees, The Liquid Room Edinburgh, Live Photos.

I went along to photograph and review The Maccabees at The Liquid Room, in Edinburgh on the 27th October, for Is This Music Magazine again. The piece is online already, so if you would like to read what I thought about the show in depth, go here (http://www.isthismusic.com/the-maccabees-4)
In short, I really really (I could go on here but I won't) massively enjoyed The Maccabees set. It was a fantastic performance, and I actually didn't want them to leave!
Just so you know, I rarely feel that about a band these days, so they definitely did something right.Anyway I hope you all enjoy the photos :)

Taking Back Sunday Review on Is This Music Magazine.

Sons and Daughters, SWG3 Glasgow, Live and Promo Photos.

Last night I had the pleasure of photographing Sons & Daughters live at their SWG3 gig, in Glasgow, along with some quick promo snaps of the band afterwards.
The show was in a warehouse venue called SWG3, which I genuinely think no-one had heard of before, but with the help of google maps we found out it was situated in the west end of Glasgow, which I personally adore. It was as you would imagine, a really cool venue to see the band perform in, and I hadn't actually seen Sons & Daughters live before, so overall it was a really good night.As you can probably guess, the first photo at the very start of this post is one of the promo photos of the band that I had taken after the gig, it was really awesome to get some snaps of the band altogether, and it was lovely to meet them.

Hello 2011...

Hey everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely new year! If you have my Photography account added on Facebook, you will probably already know that I have some very very exciting things coming up this year. These will all be revealed soon, but for now, I'm going into a little bit of a hibernation mode (really because I have a lot of editing to finish!)
However, I'll keep you all updated on any news.

Sunset in the Countryside.

I took a lovely trip through to Glasgow yesterday, to drop off my Photography in time for the Launch of the first Exhibition, in the theme of 'Change' at Offshore. Please go check it out, it's so amazing, some really good artists on display at this little, almost secretive, cave. It's Beautiful.
Above is a sunset photograph I took on my way home, lovely ending to a great night.

Beautiful By Design, Dexters Dundee, Live Photos.

Just to start off the blog with some of my recent photographs. I've posted a picture of Beautiful By Design, that was taken back in February. The gig was at Dexters, and was pretty amazing, really enjoyed BBD's set, but the venue's lighting that night wasn't so good, which isn't really what I expected since I've taken photos there a few times before and everything had been great. However this time, it constricted me to probably making most of the shots black and white. Personally though, I love B&W, so it's all good.

Please don't hesitate to give your opinion on my photography, whether it's good or bad. It means a lot to know what you are thinking.
